History has been made at Mary MacKillop Catholic College! After a year filled with friendly rivalry, high energy, and outstanding participation, McCormack House has officially been crowned the champions of our very first House Cup.
Introduced last year to ignite school spirit and deepen our sense of community, the House Cup challenged students across all year levels to step up, get involved, and represent their houses with pride. From academic achievements and sporting carnivals to daily acts of kindness and active participation in college life, every single point contributed to a thrilling race to the finish line.
In true Josephite spirit, the competition brought out the absolute best in our students. Inspired by the legacy of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and our foundational charism, every house demonstrated what it means to “never see a need without doing something about it”, supporting one another, cheering loudly at every event, and fostering a vibrant college culture.
Here are the final standings from our inaugural House Cup competition:
- McCormack: 16,010 points
- Joseph: 14,611 points
- McAulliffe: 14,484 points
- Tenison: 14,125 points
- Marian: 13,352 points
- Sippel: 12,975 points
While every house put up a fantastic fight, McCormack’s consistent effort, enthusiasm, and teamwork ultimately paid off, earning them the top spot on the leaderboard and the honor of being the inaugural cup holders.
Congratulations to all students and staff in McCormack House on a magnificent win, and thankyou to our entire college community for making the first year of the House Cup such an unforgettable success.
Get ready, Mary MacKillop, the 2027 House Cup begins next term!
